  • My Favoritre Quote

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'

1929 Shay Ford

Shay

Chuck McDonald of Rockville Md. owns this beautiful Shay Model A Ford.
The car built by Harry Shay’s company is a replica of the popular 1929
Ford Model A Roadster. They were built between 1979 and 1982 and sold
throughout the USA by Ford dealers.

The cars were advertised as: “Last of the Model A’s, limited production,
sold by Ford, factory built and warranted by Ford Motor Company.”

These cars were not built on an assembly line but were built by teams of
four men working on a single car at a time. Each team could produce two
cars a day. Shay manufactured five different body styles, and either twin,
left or rear spare mount. For more information on the Shay Ford, read this term paper written by his grandson, Nathan Shay.
