  • My Favoritre Quote

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'

    Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Hot Rods & Muscle Cars

IMG_8083 If you are of the 50’s 60’s or 70’s era generation you know that hot rods and muscle cars dominated the average male gender, and yes, even the females couldn’t help but turn their heads when a slick vintage car drove by. The times have changed but the desire to see those vintage cars has not. Continue reading

Your budget situation as well as your willingness to spend on it to restore it are some the most important. Continue reading

Ford Pickup

Slow week last week so I took the time to create a print of a Ford Pickup that I photographed at a cruise-in at the Jimmy Cone a couple months ago. You can find out the times for that by clicking on the Cruise-in tab up top.

1963 Chevy Convertible

63chevWhen I think of ‘old cars’ my mind automatically brings up images of my 1963 Chevy Impala SS. It was the first car my wife and I owned and I gave it much TLC until some drunk crashed into it one night while it was parked in front of our house. So when I saw this IMG_8143car at the Jimmy Cone a week or so ago, it just naturally caught my eye. Mine was not a convertible but it was similarly equipped and I stood for quite a few minutes just reliving the past. IMG_8142
This was just one of the many beautiful cars that cruise through on cruise nights (1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month). A definite go-to spot on those warm summer nights. The car show is fun, the 50s music keeps your fingers snapping and the Jimmy Cone ice cream and shakes are to die for. Check it out.

Photographing Your Car by Curt Scott

Above image and artwork by Hinson

Here is a great article I found on photographing your car.

Color photography is about LIGHT. LIGHT. It is not, repeat NOT, about shadow. LIGHT. Light, dammit, light. And your camera needs MUCH MORE light to “see your car” than your eyes do. It needs lots of smooth, evenly-distributed, horizontal or low-angle light…Continue reading…
